Subreporting - empty gaps in main report 2

This is my first go around with Crystal (8.5)....so bear with me..
I have created a supreport linked to my main report thru a formula field since there were no 'matching' fields to link on my tables....I have exactly the data I want to see, except that it's not quite as 'pretty' as I would like it!

I have my subreport linked into 'detail' sections. When the 'subreport' has no data, my main report is showing gaps, which makes the report look rather ugly!!! I have tried the 'format option' where you 'supress blank section' among a few other things.....do you any suggestions???

My users want to 'send' this report out to a group they are working with and I really would like to make it look more professional.

Make your subreport height (on the main report) as small as possible and be sure "can grow" is checked in Subreport Properties. Suppress all subreport headers if there is no data and remove the subreport border in the main report. You can shrink the subreport even more by setting a smaller font for the subreport name on the main report.

To get your subreport to truly disappear(thus maintaining a professional appearance), it needs to be in it's own section. You can conditionally suppress the section with the blank subreport in it, thus making the report look seamless. This is achieved by a very small subreport located in an upper section.
