Hello:

I am trying to reduce several subreports to one report all on one line.

They are now a multiple set of reports on multiple lines and would like to condense them, however the table structure (SalesLogix CRM) is not allowing me to do this and Crystal keeps getting hung up.

Please let me know what I should do.

Thanks,
Sam

Try posting technical information.

Crystal version
Database/connectivity used
Example data
Expected output

Also try being specific, "hung up" might mean many things.

In general try doing the heavy lifting on the database side rather than Crystal, so a View or SP might lend itself better to your requirements.

Hello K

Thanks for your reply. It is Crystal v.8.5 and no views are allowed, because the Viewer built into this CRM (SalesLogix) will not allow views or SP to be used.

What are the alternatives? It gets hung up, meaning the time capsule keeps going on for hours, before I have to end the task.

We are trying to get basic information from several tables.

Thank you for your help

Iv'e had similar problems. One thing I found was that an over-complex set of links would sometimes run for hours. What I'd do was a step-by-step reduction to see which combinations would finish in a finite time.

Subreports are sometimes the only feasible solution, if you are not allowed to use SQL.
