Subreport with Can Grow causes fields alongside to split 1

In the footer of an Invoice report I have several fields to the left of a subreport set to have Can Grow property. These fields do price calculations using data from the Detail selection and report source query.

If there are one or two entries in the subreport the fields to the right stay in place. If there are several rows the fields below the level of the bottom border of the subreport move down. Can I stop this?

I would try place the controls you want to keep together in a subreport. Don't allow it to grow.
