Need some help getting started on a new project. I have about 200 customers that have contracts each expiring on a different date but with data that spans over several contract periods. I need to summarize the data for the current contract period for each customer and then for all current contracts. Would I need to creat a sub-report for each current contract or is there a better or simpler way?

Thanks

Which Crystal? I use 8.5, which does things that weren't possible in earlier Crystal releases. But can't do things that Crystal 9 or 10 can do.

Regarding subreports, they are slow and should be avoided wherever possible.

I'd say group details by contractor. Within each group, suppress detail lines that are outside of the time period for that contractor.

Suppressing detail lines is less efficient than excluding them in the selection formula. In your case this probably isn't avoidable. But check whether it could suppress details according to a date on the contractor record. I've never tried it and it might work.
