Subreport Suggestions

I'm using CR8 against an SQL Server database.

Can anyone suggest alternatives to a large report (about 10,000 records) with three subreports.

I've found that having the subreports really slows down the display of the full report.
(Sometimes up to 30 minutes to display the entire report.)

My boss is standing firm that the info from the subreports is important and needs to stay on the report.

I thought of maybe creating a separate report with less info but she wouldn't budge.

Any other suggestions?

A compromise is getting the information that currently comes from the subreports as part of the main report. That way you still have the information from the subreports, but not the performance problem they create.
Modifying reports to get rid of subreports (by including the same info in the main report) is my automatic first step whenever a client asks me to improve performance time for a report. I have yet to find a report where I have been unable to get rid of the subreports - touch wood. Malcolm Wynden
