I created a report with a subreport. They are linked by a month/year field. For previous months, the subreport showed up, now all of a sudden it does not show up, it remains empty, although there would be records that should show. What could be the problem? The subreport is quite complicated, with a couple of fields that contain IIf statements. What does it mean if the message overflow appears and what can I do against it? Thank you so much.

Overflow usually means that you have defined a number field with too small a range - for example you have defined something as an integer when the values are going to exceed 32K.

However it can also occur if you have calculations involving smaller number which result in a large number because Access can base its internal data types on the numbers it sees. To counter this you might have to use type converiosn functions such as CLng() or CDbl()to force Access to use the larger data types.

Unfortunately Access gives you no clue where the overflow is occurring and you have to go through everything step by step.
