I have a main report (Crystal 8.0.1.0 Dev) which contains a sub-report. Both the main report and the subreport work off of QRY datasources. The parameters in the subreport
are linked to the parameters in the main report (startdate and enddate).

1. The main report works fine without the subreport.
2. The subreport works fine when run as a main report.

The following error is generated when I run the main report with the subreport.

"ODBC error: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver for Oracle][Oracle]ORA-01843 - not a valid month"
"Cannot open database"
"Server has not yet been opened"

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Amy

You may not require parms in the subreport, just link the parms in the main report to the corresponding fields in the subreport. If you're using SP's, then I guess that won't help much...

And are the parms of the same type?

The error sounds ominous, as if there's some conversion taking place.

There are numerous KB support files referenced for Oracle subreport in the crystaldecisions support area:
