subreport not updating 1

I have a report where I want to summarize group totals at the beginning of the report, and show detail info beneath. I am inserting a subreport into the primary report for the summary section. The subreport is based on the primary report, with detail lines suppressed. I copied and pasted group total fields from the primary report into the subreport, which is inserted into the report header section of the primary report. The subreport is not updating if I update the record selection criteria for the primary report. Where do I select the parameter fields I need to get values to pass from the primary report to the subreport?

First, there is an easier way to resummarize the main report. Put a Cross-tab in the report header with a row field of your group field. This will give you an automatic summary of the records in the rest of the report.

If you use a subreport you have 2 selection formulas and 2 sets of parameters that you have to link together. Try "Edit - Subreport Links" to link the parameters of the main to the Sub. Ken Hamady
