SubReport not ordering properly!

Hi

I have a sub report which is a list of items in a quote the items have a quote_id which identifies them to a particular quote number. The are ordered by the item_id (basically the order they where entered into the table). If I open the sub report directly they order correctly by this item_id.

I have a quote report that used this sub report linked by the quote_id so only the items on that quote appear (hope this makes sense) but these when I open this report the items in the sub report are in a different (strange) order and I cannot see why this would happen.
