I've a situation where I've a sub report defined by ttx with SQL script file. then I likned sub report with main report with a correct and relavent field. To some reason Crystal is not at all executing SQL script. I figured out this by defining some garbage in SQL script and expected errors while executing the report. But the report ran trhough without any errors but no action from sub report. I've matched exactly field definitions, both in main report and sub report. Also, linked with 'change sub report links'. Is this something known to someone before? Any help is appreciated. for info I'm using crystal report 2008 connecting SQL database.

Many Thanks in advance.

What happens when you run the subreport on its own - without the main report? To help diagnose this, I would also put the value of the linking parameter in the subreport to show what specific value is being passed into the subreport. Does it match exactly what's in the ttx file (including the case of the letters)?

Basiclly this sub report is module created for main report. If I run the sub report on it's own. It works perfectly as desired. But this has to go along with main report because the contents are details of header reside in main report.

Linking parameter is jobID. for example I displayed both passed parameter and joined parameter in sub report. I can only see passed paramenter but not sub report job ID.

Like I said If I run this report on it's own with the same parameter as user input then it works perfect. I suspect something with sub report ttx setup.

Are the field that your linking from in the main report and the field that you're linking to in the subreport the same type, size, etc?

I figured the problem but don't know the solution. A ttx file works in conjunction with SQL definition file in my situation. Some how ttx file is not talking to SQL definition file and hence, the data is not available in the report. Surprisingly, neither crystal report is stopping with error. Don't know where I'm missing.

just to update on my own post, that this problem was resolved. The reason ttx file was not talking to SQL denifition was due to missing link. I had to create a new parameter filed refering SQL definistion file. Moreover, I had to tweak SQL code to inlcude all fields bounded by the loop.
Thanks,
