Subreport in a Subreport

Hello people,

I want to add a subreport to another subreport, but the button to do so is not available.
so I take it, its not possible to do this.
is this true ?
If not, how can I add a subreport to another subreport ?

No, a subreport cannot have a subreport.

What are you trying to accomplish? If you are trying to do some sort of recursive routine, take a look at heirarchecal grouping.

hello, thanks for the reply.

I am trying to do this.
main report is showing project information.
then the subreport shows all items in a project
( a project can hve many items )
then the items can have many functions.
(so the subreport within the subreport will show the functions each item has).

You could try promoting the first subreport to be the main report, and turning the main report into one of its subreports.

In Crystal 8.5, subreports can be exported, and existing reports can be imported as subreports.

ok, what I have done now is moved the first subreport to the main report and adding grouping.

however I have 2 groupings and want to show info like.

Main Details
groupa 1
groupa 2
groupa 3

groupb 1
groupb 2

I've ticked keep together, but doesn' seem to be working.
?

Are Groupa and Groupb themselves groups? If so, select [Change Group] and choose [Keep Group TOgether].

One drawback to this method is that the first group will start on Page 2 if it cannot fit completely on Page 1. Otherwise it will work.
