SUBREPORT DOESN'T DISPLAY IN REPORT

I have a report which includes 2 subreports. If either of the subreports' underlying queries return zero records, my report displays a black page (vs. displaying the report header information, subreport labels, etc.)

If I open the subreport in print view I see the header information, but it doesn't display in the report unless there's at least one record returned in the query.

How can I fix so that my subreport headers, labels, etc. are always displayed in the report?

Just off the top of my head: could you add a space as a dummy field in your query so there would always be a record?
