subreport displays empty data cell....

thanks fellas for the previous answer to my report prob! Now for a new prob! Ok i have added the subreports to the main report but... The first subreport i added to the detail section of the main report works fine and displays the data. Any other subreport i have added to the details section doesnt display the data. However the first subreport i chucked in still works fine. I know it is finding the data because the outline of the boxes are displayed, just not the data they should contain!

Also another problem, going by these empty boxes being displayed, is that the subreports are lining the data up with the corresponding data in the sub report next to it. So there are gaps appearing...

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

As far as the first problem, the only thing I can think of without seeing the reports is that when you put boxes around the fields, that perhaps you somehow covered up the field with a fill color. Did you put boxes by applying a border to the feild, or by drawing a rectangle around the field? If you used the rectagle, select the field and then go to the fill color button and select "transparent". If this isn't the issue, I don't have other ideas to help. Dawn
 
thanks Dawn, turns out the box in the subreport was right justified so in the main report it justified to far right and ended up out of the box thus it wasnt visable... does that make sense? Either way left justifying the subreport box did the trick! The only problem now is this. I ask the user for a period they want the report to be based upon (begindate and enddate). The data listed is the refnum, a unique number. One column is 'records opened in period' another is 'records closed in period' and the other is 'all records still open'. This is the output:

opened closed total open
1 1
2 2
3 3
4 4
5 5
6 6
7 7

the three columns are a seperate sub report and as you can see when the data is listed there are blanks/gaps in between. Any ideas on how to get rid of these gaps?
