I placed 2 subreports in my main report. one subreport is in the group footer, the other subreport is in the report footer.

When I preview the report I see all the reports in proper order and properly displayed.

When I print, it will only print the report and the first subreport, but not the second. I thought maybe there is something wrong with the footer, so I placed the first subreport in the footer and it prints.

What can I check to see why the second subreport will only display but will not print.

Thanks in advance :)

I figured it out myself, Thanks!!

zevw,

I am having the same problem with an Access subreport. What did you do to fix this problem?

Thanks,
Warno

Please describe you report and subreport. What sections are they in? Are they linked? Have you confirmed there are records that should display in the subreport?

Hi dhookom,

I have a main report with a Page header / footer and a group footer section. There are 3 subreports in the group footer. They are not linked in any way to the main report, they all have their own criteria. The first sub report contains 3 pages of records in the print preview. When I view the report, nothing from that subreport prints, just the border around the subreport control.

None of the subreports are linked to each other or the main report.

Ok, so you are saying the Link Master/Child properties are empty. Are the sections and the subreport controls set to allow growing?

Yes, all of the sections and subreport controls are set to grow. There is a nested subreport as well in the one that does not print out and the appropriate sections in the subreport are also set to grow. There is some code in the OnOpen event for the first subreport which opens the nested subreport in design to set some filter properties, saves it then closes it. I don't know if this has something to do with why it's not printing. It previews fine.

Opening a report in design view that is supposed to be opening in preview could cause your problem. Is there a reason why you need to open a report is design view?

Warno!

Sorry for getting back to you so late, but my issue was very similar I also had 3 subreports in the footer the first was set to make a page break after that report was done. What I did was moved this first subreport in the group footer and inserted a page break after that report.

In the report footer I added 2 other subreports that do not have a page break and they print.

I still have one issue taht I have not resolved yet. That is the pages count it gives me one page less then the actual report. lets say the report has 6 pages included the report footer section. The report will display Page 6 of 5.

I don't know if this helps you in any way but this is my story. Good Luck.

I reccomend listening to Duane, he has lots of experience and knowledge.

Guys,

Thanks for the feedback. I've been programming in Access for about 15 years and I've never run into this problem before. I inherited this system and these reports. The reason I had to open the report in design view while it was opening was because the report filter was being dynamically set in the main report and each subreport had to have the same thing happen, yet you can't set the filter property on the open event for a subreport from the main report. I think I'm going to revamp the whole report and clean it up. That's part of the joy of inheriting other people's work!!

Thanks for the help though, I appreciate it greatly.
