subreport and sql authentication

Quick question....

I have a report with many subreports that prompts for windows credentials and the server and instance against which it is to be run which works great with windows authentication. I need to use SQL authentication on some servers (no trust between domains). The problem I have is each subreport (linked report) prompts for a login. Is there a way to have the sql credentials passed down to each sub report? I am running SSRS 2008 and the sql accounts are different on each of the sql servers I have to connect to so I cannot store the credentials in the reporting services database. Any suggestions?

you can still store the credentials on the report server...

either create a data source for each report/server connection, and then point the reports at it, or create a report specific data source for each report.

easiest way would be to go to the report manager page, and for each report, go to the security properties.

it's not a very clean solution, but since you can't use windows authentication, there's not that much else you can do...
