Subjects for FAQ's for this Forum 1

Hi All,

I've been trolling the history of questions posted to the forum to try to get a sense of the types of repeated questions that have been posted. This would be the basis for producting a number of FAQ's (Frequently Asked Question) guides that can be accessed from the top tabbed dialog in the Cognos Solutions forum home page. Many of the other forums at Tek-Tips have these, and they can be a useful resource to both novices and experts alike.

What I'm asking you for now is twofold: First, I'd like to get suggestions from current forum members for what they think would make good FAQ topics, and Second: I'd be interested in anyone that feels capable and available to write on any such topic. Keep in mind that the author of the FAQ is usually required to be the one that keeps it current and revises it as suggestions indicate.

Anyway, please post to replies to this question indicating your thoughts and/or availability on either of these two requests.

I've added three FAQ's to the Forum and would like to get some feedback. The topics are

Impromptu Prompts
Macro use Overview
and Effective Forum Participation (lots copied from Terry Broadbent's SQL Server FAQ of the same name, but still useful here.)

Feedback for a FAQ is best provided using the 'Send a Comment' link under the FAQ text.

In addition, I'd still like to encourage other forum pros (you know who you are ) to get in there are write a FAQ or two themselves. We need some good Powerplay FAQ's, more macro FAQ's (I may have another one out soon myself), additional Impromptu FAQ's and potentially a DecisionStream or Visualizer FAQ. I know we have the experience base here, so why not take a crack at it!

Also, anyone with a good idea for a FAQ topic is still encouraged to add to this thread.
