How many characters can you have and will the TO: person will see the same thing?

a) 160 characters

b) Depends on their display settings...probably not if you have 160 characters.

All 160 characters are available in the header, but the recipient must click on the subject and scroll over.

Send yourself an email and in the subject line press a key and hold it down. See for yourself what it will look like.

I just tried it. I was only able to type 100 character and see 100 characters.

Hmm. I'm on GW 6.5. Maybe that's different for you?

Whatever the case, if your max is 100 characters...there's your answer at least.

What the recipient will see is still going to depend on their default settings. You know how you can change the size of an email window? If someone has their window set smaller than yours, they may not see the entire subject - if it is really long.

no, how do you change the size of the emails window

I just mean when you open an email in its own window, you can click on the border of the window to resize.

If you use quickviewer (as I do), width of window isn't as big a deal - but you should keep in mind that other users may have their email window set small.
