I'm sorry to be vague but my 2007 d/base was working fine until i placed on another PC (2 others actually). The call to the subform code came back with an error message saying that it now couldn't find the subform - or at least the controls on that subform. I just wondered if there were any known issues before i get down to specifics. Thanks.

This might be an issue if the subform doesn't have any records.

would you believe that after several hrs of pain i woke this morning to see your replies and - of course - it seems to have righted itself - which leads me to believe that i need to keep in mind both of your very helpful suggestions. I was getting bogged down in coding detail. Wonderful this forum - to provoke a bit of lateral thinking! Thanks a lot. (A database crashing in a room full of people is not a great deal of fun)
