Subform grandchild not populating

I have a form 'Jobfrm' with a continuous subform 'JobPhase' and a grandchild continuous subform 'Joblines'. When I create a new job and enter the details of the phase into 'JobPhase' everything is OK until I try to enter data into 'Joblines' when I get the message 'The Microsoft Jet database engine cannot find a record in the table 'JobPhase' with key matching fields 'PhaseRef'. If I close the form 'Jobfrm' and reopen it, I can then add the data into 'Joblines' with no problem. How can I overcome this problem of having to exit and then re-enter the form please?

You may need to add some code in the JobPhase subform to save the record prior to moving focus to the JobLines subform.
