Hey,

How do I set up exchange to accept mail and forward
it onto another host in the domain ?

Im trying to have 2 sets of users all routed through the
exchange server - The normal users are <user>@example.com and other users are <another user>@anotherhost.example.com

I want the exchange server (blue.example.com) to forward
all email explicity addressed to anotherhost.example.com
to anotherhost.example.com for processing.

I have blue.example.com setup in DNS as the MX for example.com and I have anotherhost.example.com setup
as the MX for anotherhost.example.com. I've tried a
few configs for exchange server but I either get mail
destined for anotherhost.example.com bounced back to
me or i get relaying denied messages.

Any ideas ?

Thanks.

Cheers
richard

Why not setup the MX record to the other host? Is it on the internet? If so it should work fine.

The only other way is to have a recipient policy for blue.yadda.com and then on the SMTP VS setup to forward unresolved to the other host. You could get yourself in a loop so the MX record is the best bet if the host is on the internet. Dan

Its not on the internet yet, its internal (testing phase)
so I've gone the unresolved forwarding route.

Thanks !
