I am trying to write a report that contains other subreports and am having trouble with the way the detail sections present. (first time I've seen this happen and can't figure it out)
The report is meant to collate customer data from across many different countries (all of which have their own customer databases)
So I've put together a basic report to pull out customer name beginning with the letter A in the first country and then written similar reports for the other countries and inserted them into the main one.
I have then added a parameter field to the main report and used it in the selection formula... then ensured subreport links were correct.
What this should result in is a main report, that when refreshed prompts for new parameter values and these new parameters get used in the sub reports.
Simple so far but for the first time now the details sections are not sitting together nicely in preview.
Looks like this:
Da
Db
Dc
Da
Db
Dc
Da
etc...
Instead of all of one countries data sitting together in a single detail section.

Also, for some reason one of the countries whom I know only has one record is showing the same record three times over.

I have been staring at this all afternoon and comparing it to some other reports I've written that do work properly and just can't see it.

Has anybody ever come across this before? Or is it just too late to be doing this on a friday night anyways.

Would appreciate any and all feedback.

Thanks
Sue

Where are the subreports located? If you have them in separate detail sections, then you probably want to format detail_a and detail_b to "underlay following sections" so that the subreports will align.

Yes I have tried various things. Subreports are in separate detail sections. Underlaying just seems to make it look much worse. putting the subreports into the same detail section also doesn't alter the results.
Think I am just going to scrap and try rewrite. Like I said, I've never seen this happen before.
