Hi,
I have a main report that does not display any information and a few sub reports placed on it. The only function of the main report is to hold the sub reports together and have one date prompt for the sub reports. It looks like the sub reports are not recognizing the date parameters passed by the main report. I have the sub reports and the main report linked on the date that I am prompting the user for. I think I am missing something.

Can you please help?

Thanks

Are you using subreport links in the main report?

Have you checked record selection in the subreports?

Have you tried displaying the parameter from the subreport?

Just what are the subreports doing? Showing nothing? Showing the wrong data?

The sub report gets everythin in the database. The record selection does not read the date parameters entered at the main report level. I am not sure how to force the record selection of the sub reports to read the date parameters from the main report.

If the date parameter is linked to something in the subreport, it should automatically create a selection. if it does not, you could add such a selection.

What version of Crystal?

Check what's in the Report->Edit Selection Formula->Record in the subreport(s), it will reflect the parameters in there, and if you're using a start and end date (you didn't post the data types and the specifics about your parameters), you'll need to alter the comparisons to reflect >= and <= rather than = of whatever is in there..

I found it. -K was on the right track. It was the date data type. The main report has the date fields as "Date" but the sub report had the date fields as "Date-Time". As a result it never matched.

Thanks for the hints.
