Sub Report Question

In CR 8.5 I usually create a series of reports that do the different things I need to happen and string them together as subreports to give me one report (that is transparent to the user).

Question: If I edit and change the subreport from the "master" report, does that change the original stand alone report that was inserted into the parent report? And, if I choose to edit the stand alone version, do those changes carry over the to total report?

Which leads to: When I move a report around (to a different folder), do I need to more the stand alone reports (that were inserted as subreports) too?

Once inserted, I think that the subreports are separate entities. I seem to recall that you could link them in some version, but I never do.

Last year I was using a set of similar subreports on Crystal 8.5. I found that there were some problems and I got into the habit of changing the name of a report after each instance of importing it as a subreport.
