Sub-Report inner or outer join 1

I have read this thread and just need some clarification on what Ken was saying.... thread149-129286

Does a subreport behave like a left or inner join?

My report is linked by ID to the subreport but of course the sub has less records. I want the subreport to behave like a left join - will it?

Hi,
As Ken said, the sub is not 'linked' in the same way a table would be linked so Left, Outer, Inner, etc do not really apply.
In behaviour it is like a Left Outer Join in that all records in the main will be returned regardless of how many 'matching' records are returned by the sub.
