Hi,

I've created a sub form that displays fields from a table.

The subform is related to an employee record. When I enter the information in the table and view it or edit it in the subform, everything works fine. If I try to enter the information in the subform for that employee and the subform fields are initially empty, it creates a new record in the table.

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

Thanks

Yes - that sounds like exactly what I'd expect to happen - so what's the problem ?

You mean when you add data to the subform, you are actually getting a new record in the mainform?
Is your subform based on a query that involves the Mainform's table.
That could be your problem.
If your subform contains a query/table that only includes the one table from the Many side of the relationship and you add records there, you will only get new records in the subform's table.
THis is an easy problem to fix. GIve me more details if you're still stuck.
