I am truly not getting the benefit of creating a book in InDesign. Unless of course I am completely missing something.

Please correct me if I am wrong or lead me in the right direction but....
If I import a series of files that all use the same style sheet into a book in Indesign and if I change the style sheet in the main file...shouldn't all of the files with the same style sheet change automatically through out the book.

And what about master pages? Can't I create a master page that will work in all the files of the book?

I can find very little documentation on creating a BOOK file in Indesign.

If you make changes in the orginal file these changes may not show up automaticly in Indy. You will need to update the link using the link window.
The benifits of using indy to make a book is that you can apply styles, indexing, set up different print layouts. It is best to place your styling in Indy instead of word, or other programs.
