I have a piece of equipment that is printer capable through an RS232 port. I don't have a serial printer. Is there a way to do this?? Advise please. The equipment manufacturer recommends a serial printer.
i don't know if i got that post right in my head.let me see if i'm right...
you have something that has a rs232 port that is there to hook it up to a printer. but your printer doesn't have an rs232 port on it. is this right? that is what i believe to be correct.
if it is not, let me know so, i can expand my brain power
Yeah, you spend about $100.00 and buy a serial/parallel buffer from global computer supplies and a 36/36 amphenol cable (parallel printer type connector on both ends) then build an interface cable from the serial port to the buffer box. Then you hook it up.
The question you will then have to answer and provision are the handshake interconnects on your 232 port.
Very simple to do, just expensive. Ed Fair
