why is tablespaces required ?
what will happend without tablespaces
sorry for asking stupid question.
but pls clarify.

Hello Malayils,

There is no such thing as a stupid question ............

You should not worry to much about tablesspaces , cause these will automatically be created with the database if you are smart enough to use control center. The default tablespace for your data then is USERSPACE1 and default setting while creating is SYSTEM management. This means that the system itself will manage the tablespaces without maintenance from you.

tablespace itself consists of containers which allocate the physical space needed to store information. These containers can be identified by codes as SQLT0000.0,SQLT0001.0,SQLT0002.0 on the filesystem. T. Blom
