I'm sure this is a really stupid question! I've got an HP printer at home and when ever i print something it does not print when you send it. You have to shut the computer down and then turn it back on in order to print what you sent. It doesn't matter if the printer is turned on or not. Why is this and how can I fix it??? Thanks

Something's not right. What model printer and what operating system?

Does it happen with all programs that you print from or just one program? If it is just one software then there is some wrong selection made in the program's preferences re. printing. If it's all programs, then the error could be in the printer driver preferences, Windows's print manager or a setting on the printer itself.

The printer is a deskjet 1120C. It does this for all programs. Beats me!

And the drivers are updated for your operating system? There have been multiple instances of bad drivers sent out with the HP printers.
