Stupid IT Question

Hi. By default, I have become the IT person in our office. My first question, in probably a series of many "Stupid IT Questions"; Is ther a way, after a computer has been bought and configured, to change the name it has been registered to? This is the info you see when you right click on "My Computer" and see the "Registered to" in the "General" tab.

You're asking in the wrong forum really. You'd be better asking in the forum that deals with the Operating System installed on the machine in question.

Anyway, if it's XP pro (may be the same on other versions) here's the reg key it's stored at :

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion
