I can't remember how to send the results of a command to a text file. What do I do if I want a listing of all of the files in a directory?
Sorry for the lack of challenge on this question. Still looking.

To create (or replace) a file with new information:

dir > filename.txt

To append to a file:

dir >> filename.txt

Do you mean from a DOS window? If you do. Right click on the status bar at the top of the DOS window, go to edit\mark, highlight what you want to then right click copy, open up a text editor like notepad and do an edit paste. Was that what you were looking for?
