Hi, all!

I never seen any resources that explain basics of certification. I meant, place, time, prices, registration etc. How all this looks like in process? [sig]
Vlad Grynchyshyn
vgryn@softserve.lviv.ua
[/sig]

Good questions, Vlad!

I've taken all my tests thus far at Sylvan Prometric, one of two Microsoft-approved testing organizations. The other one (VueMetric?) may work a little differently, but probably not.

Here's how it usually works:

* you decide on the test you want to take

* you figure out where you want to take the test; in the case of Sylvan Prometric, you can do this from their Web site, where they list the testing locations throughout the U.S. (there may be several in the larger cities)

* you call the main test registration number of the organization (not the local testing center, but the central toll-free number). Sylvan Prometric supports registering via the Web, but I don't recommend it - bad experience

* you give them the testing center and date/time that you desire; they'll tell you if that center has a slot open at that time, and can suggest alternate times or days (or even test centers)

* you give them your credit card number, against which they will charge $100 for each test

* if you need to cancel or reschedule, be sure to do it at least 24 hours in advance
