Hello;
We have a Windows 2000 server set up as a PDC. We also have a Windows NT server that we'd like workers to log into. There is a script that maps the drive to that server but when a user logs in they have to manually go in and log into the nt server. We even tried adding the IP address to the LMHost file but it did not work. We have tried a number of things but to no avail. Can someone tell me what I have to do on the 2000 PDC server to get it to log into the nt server.

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks
Sonia

Hey soniar5

couple of questions. Is the server you are trying to log onto, it is a member of you windows 2000 domain? Are you trying to map a drive? When the users manually logs in, do they get in or does it re-prompt? Do you have WINS or DNS on your network, and do the client workstations reference those servers?

Its the other way around - you need to ensure that the NT server is able to authenticate with the 2K server. Is the NT server enrolled in the AD Domain?

Doesn't sound like a DNS/WINS/IP problem...

if they're on the same domain you should set up the NT server as a BDC, otehrwise join NT to the domain (if its not already)

No PDCs in Win2000, just a PDC emulator waiting for everyone to get updated

need more info about your network though...
