stumped lp9002dc E4500 A5000

Need some help.

I have an E4500 OS Solaris 9 with an emulex lp9002dc dual fibre card attached to an A5000. The A5000 has 5 drives in it, qty 3 36gb and qty 2 18gb. I edited the sd.conf as documentation says. Format recognized the drives.

My problem is the hbanyware which is emulex's gui recognizes all the drives but only shows the luns for the 36gb drives and not the 18gb drives.

Firmware has been updated on everything and system is patched up and down.

Has anyone seen similar issues?
Is anyone running a similar setup (emulex to A5000, model of sun system does not matter)?

Any thoughts?????

Have you tried recreating the LUN for the 18GB disks?

As format can see them, but hbanywhere does not, then I would try setting/recreating the LUN.

I have already tried resetting things up. I even went and changed it from auto binding to manual binding which I specified the target#. Edited the sd.conf for targeting and lun, rebooted and still the 18gig do not show the luns. I am begining to think the 18gb drives may no be supported, although I can't find any documentation on this.

The purpose of me doing this is to replicate a customer setup as much as possible. Unfortunately the customer has a hitachi raid array which there is no chance of me getting my company to buy. They have 8 drives in the unit which show up as say c1t35d0, c1t35d1, c1t35d2 etc.. the d being the lun..

My thought on this issue is

1) the A5000 is not a raid unit so each drive is given an individual target# ( c1t33d0, c1t34d0 etc..) and therefor I can only setup lun0 for each drive. (Maybe you can setup the unit to be seen as 1 target and then I could setup multiple luns but I am yet to figure this out. This is why I am looking for someone with a similar configuration to see if they have figured it out.)

2) the 18gb drive is not supported, firmware incompatability...Totally guessing at this point.

Anyways any input or thoughts from anyone at this point is worth it as I am in a position to try any suggestions as this is only a test bed.
