So I start a new project for my company, And the programmer who worked before me left me an incomplete website. Now all the menus on the website are in flash.

My managers want me to change some things in the menu, I dont know a thing about flash. Is there anyway I can decompile his flash movies, and make small changes to the menu headers??

Help I am stuck. Thanks everyone.

you need the .fla files. Open that(those) in Flash and you can edit there

Awesome!! I have Flash MX 2004 on my computer...can you guys please take me through the steps. Like I said I have never used flash.. :(

Sorry and thanks again.

Except that I still dont know how to do it! :( I have the .swf files....and I cant even resize them or anything else. Can anyone please direct me to some links or articles or anything else that helps.

No offense, but if you know nothing of Flash, and want this finished by morning or even by next week, I'd hire someone who has some basic knowledge of Flash.

Failing this, Flash comes with a fairly decent tutorial on Flash basics. I suggest that you spend the few hours needed to go through the complete tutorial/examples. After that, you shouldn't have too much of a problem making the minor changes you want.

There's always a better way. The fun is trying to find it!

No offense to you too... But depending on his actual knowledge of Flash, and trying to modify a project (possibly even done with AS2.0 scripting), with only a few hours of scanning through a "fairly decent tutorial on Flash basics", seems like a big nice utopia to me!
But you never know! Could be just changing some url on a button... And then, I guess that could be done!
