ok guys i have got this far..i have my tv movie right..say about 100 frames long(it loops).in the top of the vcr i have a movieclip(also 100 frames looping)it plays fine..in the tv buttons(button # 1)it calls a movie clip..that clip is the welcome page to the site and is only about 30 frames long..button one calls the clip and it starts to play..frame 15 of the clip has a stop action with a button that tells it to go to 16 and play to finish out the clip which has a blank frame with a stop action that will cut off the clip and leave it blank on the main time line when it's done..everything works fine except(of course there had to be an except)when i click on button 1 to start the clip it plays but of course the movie is looping and when it gets back to frame 1 it cuts off the clip before you get a chance to read what's inside because it's looping back to 1 and the clip is blank on 1 untill u click the button that calls it..i would just put a stop action on the main movie and stop it from looping but if i do that it stops the clock from updating!!what do i need to do guys to make this work??

have a look..

alright mate if u wanna put a link to the fla file (make sure its flash 4 not 5) and ill have a look at it ;)

it's 5 sorry..dave or old any help here guys..where are the old men today..

Old people are deaf & sleep late!

How heavy is it!
Can you make a copy of your project, get rid (in this copy) of your preloader, scale down the whole thing (while testing) and get rid of unused items?

And then upload that .fla hopefully smaller?

Making no promises here! A lot of things to do today!

;-)

is it taking that long for you to load old?

It does take some time to download a 1-2MB .fla! We're not all on t1s!
And besides... Got to make you work a little!

;-)

ok will do but do you understand my question..i have a movie clip that is inside my movie..because of my movie looping it causes the clip to close before the user closes it manually.does that make sense.anyway i will post it..

yeah, got your e-mail virt, it's gonna need to be chopped big-time if its 1.2mB otherwise I ain't got the patience to download.

first question: why is your tv 100 frames long when it just sits there doing nothing? davdesign@pinkzeppelin.com

any help guys is appreciated..dave that is as small as i can get it..

ok read your post agin, so the clock's the big issue here? Why don't you just stick the clock in it's own looping mc? Allowing you to stop the main timeline. I really don't see the need for the looping main timeline here.

because i had to put a tween for the blinking lights on the tv and the : inbetween the clock numbers..if i used clips they assumed the fps of the original and blinked to fast..but i know there is a way around that isn't there..i did not want to make it that long but i needed the tweens for the lights..the clock only needs to frames to update right.get me around the blinking light thing and i can shorten the frames.

ok will try that..so if i put the clock in it's on mc it will work and update as long as it has two frames right.and what about the blinking lights that i have on there.the fps is 12 per sec..if i use a clip for the lights should i just have the blinking(alpha o to 100) 12 frames apart.and did you take a look at the swf above dave so you can see where i'm going with this..

right on all counts and yes.

ps: red? davdesign@pinkzeppelin.com

Just my opinion but I think you're tv would look better if it was 'floating' on a white background, possibly with a shadow beneath.

your right i was thinking the red was to much so i intended on changing it eventually.but the tv is as big as the movie it self..if i make it float with a drop shadow i will have to make it smaller.and i don't want it to small because i will loose the clarity of it..but will change the color indeed.thanks for the suggestion.
