Ok, long story short I tried to SSH into the CS1000 today and couldn't. So, I got on my COM port directly connected to the switch and the login works, so I am thinking it is some crazy expired in UCM but not the switch, (which I have seen before). So, I tried changing the password in EM, then SSH'ing - didn't work. But, I can log into EM with the username/password, so I just made a new account. Ok, this new account can SSH into the switch, I was going to go in as nortel and su to root and check and see if my password is expired, but then funny thing, I can't login with the nortel account. Humm, I say, so I went to my https:// IP /Local-login and try my nortel password there and get: "Login error. Please check your username and password.". So, now I feel like I am up a creek, yes, without a paddle.

Thoughts?

what version? 7.5 switched from nortel user name to admin2. Other than that you may need to reset the passwords via the linux. There is a post a couple down from there that outlines the process. Not difficult to do.

Janaya,

CS1000E, RELEASE 7

I have seen the instructions before, but I don't have a CD-Rom drive to put a disk into, suggestions?

do you have access to the avaya support website, because you can download the iso image and create a cd

You need whatever media was used to install linux on the server (DVD, USB, PCMCIA, etc.)

Ahh, it was PCMCIA, and the vendor we got the upgrade from kept the disk . . . :( . . I do have access to the Avaya Support site. So, I guess I need to figured out how to do this . . . with a PCMCIA and downloaded software? Which should I get?

If you download the software there is a utility to transfer it to the PCMCIA.

You mean compact flash right? Call the vendor and tell them to give you the software back. It's not their's it's yours. You need this for system recovery, reload..yada yada.

Well, let me shoot them an e-mail and see what they say . . this could be interesting . . ;)
