I currently have a 2600 which I cannot get out of rommon mode. I try confreg 0x2102 but I get this error:

device does not contain a valid magic number
boot: cannot open "flash:"
an alternate boot helper program is not specified
(monitor variable "BOOTLDR" is not set)
and unable to determine first file in bootflash
loadprog: error - on file open
boot: cannot load "tftp:c2600-i-mz_113-6_T.bin 255.255.255.255"

Then enters rommon mode after 14 attempts with this error as a result.

I was thinking of TFTPing a new image but thought I'd ask here first.

Any ideas would be appreciated.

I've had this happen to me from time to time. Go ahead and load the new image. [sig][/sig]

No good.

I TFTP'd the image but keep getting bad checksum errors. I know the images are good because I used them before... I think the flash Rom might have become unseated or damaged.

Going to reseat it and try again.

Nope... looks like the flash is toast.

Ordered a new one.

Thanks for the help!
