stsadm.exe command line error

i am trying to install this feature on my sharepoint server and can not. I hvae tried several ways of entering the command and none have worked.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\web server extensions\12\BIN>stsa
dm.exe -o addsolution -filename ApplicationTemplateCore.wsp

Command line error.

The command looks fine to me.

Is ApplicationTemplateCore.wsp located in the \12\bin\ folder? If not, you will need to give it a location or move it there.

yes the application is the bin folder so i still don't know why i keep getting an command line error

Are you typing the command in manually, or are you copying it / pasting it or running it from somewhere other than the command prompt?

i have been typing it in notepad and copying it from there and paste in the command prompt
