Struggling with CDE

I recently loaded the cluster patch 8_Recommended on my Solaris 8 box. This must have had a patch that effected the CDE environment because it changed everything that I was used to. I had some shortcuts on the workspace which are no longer there. I used to have a menu that said "put in workspace" when I right clicked on an application. This would create the shortcut on the desktop but its no longer there. Anyone know how I can get a shortcut to an app on the desktop now?
