Hi all -

I could do with some really basic directions.

The organisation I work for runs 3 sites, each of which has its own database, data entry and MIS systems.

We will need to continue to run the 3 sites but also have a single amalgamated MIS database (accepting daily+ feeds from the 3 sites).

As a complete XML novice I think that we could have (say VB) programs on the 3 sites querying the database for the latest records and then writing XML. Similar programs in the center scanning for new XML - then breaking/unformatting them and writing to the central database. Is this how it works ?

If the areas are not on a network how do we transmit XML files ? email?

I will appreciate any information or guidance.

Thanks

You need to use a webservice. Easy to write in .Net.
