Hi,

How is lotus notes constructed?
I mean, is the following statement correct?

First you have a database, for example names.nsf(the addressbook)
In the addressbooks there are views.
In a view there are documents.
So the entries in a adressbook(my contacts) are ie. documents.

Can anyone tell me?

Regards,
T.

Exactly! Each document has fields. The value of the fields are displayed through the fields of a form. The forms in Notes are the user interface to the document in the database. If you right click on a document in a view, and go to properties, the second tab will show you all the fields in the document and their values.

When using LotusScript remember that there are two documents, the one displayed in the form (the user interface document or NotesUIDocument) and the "real" document in the database (NotesDocument).

Good luck! Leslie
