stroke emboss 1

I want to create a shape (circle) with a stroke around it. The stroke will be embossed but not the inside of the circle. just the stroke.
Stroke emboss does the inside not the stroke. modify contract stroke works but then the stroke is really jaggedy

Kentucky - You can try this... start with your layer called Circle - add the desired stroke effect - then right click the Stroke attribute beneath the Circle layer and select "Create Layer." This will give you a layer on top called Circle's Centered Stroke. Select this layer and add your desired bevel/emboss... kim

K - I forgot to add - when you create your stroke you have a choice of three positions (Outside, Inside and Center) -make sure you select "Center" for the position of the stroke.
