Stroke/Drop Shadow 1

My mind is incredibly blank (per usual) Is there a way to do a stroke or drop shadow? (MX)

Create a box shape(black or dark grey) almost the same size as the object.

Modify > Shape > Soften Fill Edges....

distance: 10
number of steps: 10
direction: expand

This creats a drop shadow effect.
