Hi there

I'm currently writing up a report in RS but need some SQL that will enable me to strip out some text from a string. The field in questions highlights the status of our client accounts. Where the account is no longer in use the field will show "Finished - ********" where the stars indicate the reason as to why the account is no longer active. I would like to seperate this field in to two seperate strings and show only the status in one field and the reason in another.

Any ideas how this can be achieved?

Thanks

Look at instr, substr & length functions in SQL

We could learn a lot from crayons. Some are sharp, some are pretty and some are dull. Some have weird names and all are different colours but they all live in the same box.
