Does anyone know how I can add pv's to an existing stripe set ??

Thanks,
NeoRisc

Yes. To do this you will use the 'extendvg' command. The syntax is:

extendvg [volume_group] [physical_volume]

for example, if I wanted to extend my testvg volume group which is striped across hdisk1 and hdisk2 already, I would use this command:

extendvg testvg hdisk3

which adds the physical volume hdisk3 to the existing stripe set.

Have fun!

Sorry, but nope that just extends the vg and does not effect the stripe set. Called support they say we have to blow away the logical volume and recreate.

Thanks,
NeoRisc

Nope. If you want to grow to a four-disk stripe set from a three-disk stripe set you must to recreate it, but you can grow in multiples, i.e., from a three-disk to a six-disk!

Use [tt]extendlv[/tt] to grow the volume...

I hope it works...
