My issue is im receiving x.400 mail from outside the US. In turn it's getting run through a MS-Exchange server which then forwards it to a unix server. At that point I need to figure out how to grab the attachment and dump it into a dir on the unix system for a third-party app to read. Any thoughts

I'm not sure if this can be done within sendmail. You may want to look at a program called UUDeview. It will extract attachments from mail messages in a user's mailbox on unix and place them in a directory with the original attachment name. I beleive there is also a version for windows.

I should be able to run a perl script from the .forward file and filter the attachment but the perl script is the issue. Not sure where to start since I'm new to Perl...
