Strip a URL

I am faced with a problem, that i initially thought would be simple...

I need to get the the response "Mark" from a url

http://www.domain.com/mark/default.aspx

i simply need to return the string "mark"

I have googled and tried many theories that i thought would work, without success

Look into the string functions in help, particularly SubString()
