String to Number / Having some Issues

Hey!

I am having problems with the ToNumber Syntax
I have a text field item.weight that I would like to include in a formula

Item.Weight * Quantity.Shipped

Can you help with the syntax.

Currently I have ToNumber ({item weight}) * {quantity.shipped}

Exactly what is the problem?

Do you get an error? If so, what is the error message?

What version of Crystal?
What database?

Is it possible you have non numeric values in the field?

Take some time to post an exact statement of the issue and pertinent information. It is hard to help someone when they don't and why should we have to guess?
