string parameters being converted to special characters

Hello,

the parameter passed from the page is...CenterList=(73,12)

but is interpreted/converted to this...CenterList=%2873%2C12%29 when i do a response.write(

thus not showing any data on the report...

can anyone pls guide me to the right direction...
